Parliament Speaker Congratulates Revolution Leader and President on National Day

Sana'a: Speaker of Parliament Yahya al-Ra'i on Thursday sent a congratulatory telegram to Leader of the Revolution Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi and President of the Supreme Political Council Mahdi al-Mashat on the occasion of the 36th National Day of the Republic of Yemen, May 22. The message, also directed to the members of the Supreme Political Council, the Armed Forces, Security Forces, and the people of Yemen, highlighted the significance of Yemeni unity.

According to Yemen News Agency, al-Ra'i conveyed his congratulations on behalf of the Presidium, members, and General Secretariat of Parliament. He emphasized that Yemeni unity is a reflection of the people's will and the cohesion of the nation's social fabric. Al-Ra'i stressed the importance of strengthening national unity to safeguard the homeland's unity, security, and stability.

He called for unity around the leader of the revolution, the political leadership, and the armed forces to tackle challenges threatening the nation's sovereignty and stability. Al-Ra'i highlighted the need to defeat invaders and occupiers and to preserve the unity that the people consider a significant achievement.

The Speaker underscored the importance of resilience and working towards a just peace that maintains Yemen's unity and sovereignty. He advocated for prioritizing the people's interests and utilizing the nation's oil and gas resources to benefit citizens and enhance services in all governorates.

Al-Ra'i also warned against divisive schemes targeting national unity and urged vigilance to counter such threats. He called on all citizens and national forces to uphold unity, which he described as a historic achievement born from collective struggle.
