Parliament Speaker Yahya al-Ra’i Honored by Yemeni Parliamentarians Union

Sana'a: Speaker of Parliament Yahya al-Ra'i met on Saturday with the Secretary-General of the Yemeni Parliamentarians Union, Mohammed al-Gharbi Omran, and several former members of Parliament. During this meeting, significant discussions took place regarding the current state of parliamentary affairs and the Union's role in addressing national and pan-Arab issues.

According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting was also attended by members of Parliament Mohammed Suwar, Nashwan al-Sabri, Khaled al-Ansi, Abdu Radman, and the Secretary-General of Parliament Abdullah al-Qasimi. Mr. al-Ra'i received a detailed briefing on the Union's continuous efforts to support Yemeni sovereignty and its commitment to rejecting foreign aggression and blockades.

The Speaker acknowledged the dedication of former members who have remained in Yemen to confront external challenges. He lauded their decision to support their nation during trying times, emphasizing their role in upholding Yemeni sovereignty and opposing the desecration of religious sites. The Speaker also highlighted these meetings as pivotal for strengthening national unity and combating foreign conspiracies.

In a gesture of appreciation, the Yemeni Parliamentarians Union presented Mr. al-Ra'i with the Union's First Class Shield. This honor recognized his unwavering national stances and the legislative and oversight roles Parliament plays in representing the Yemeni people. Mr. al-Ra'i expressed his gratitude for this recognition, seeing it as a tribute to all parliamentarians committed to defending Yemen.

Mohammed al-Gharbi Omran, the Secretary-General of the Yemeni Parliamentarians Union, expressed appreciation for the Speaker's efforts and the collective work of Parliament. He underscored that the honor bestowed upon the Speaker reflects the collective aspirations of the Yemeni populace.

Former Member of Parliament Ahmed al-Ashari reiterated that the honor acknowledges the Speaker and Parliament's steadfast role during Yemen's challenging period. Judge Yahya al-Ansi further emphasized the recognition of Mr. al-Ra'i's career, marked by his dedication to serving the nation and supporting his colleagues.
