Sana’a: The General Authority for Social Security and Pensions began disbursing the first half of May 2021 pensions to retired civil servants today.
According to Yemen News Agency, the head of the Authority, Ibrahim Al-Haifi, explained that the disbursement process is being carried out by the Authority within the framework of the temporary exceptional mechanism to support the salaries of state employees. This mechanism operates in accordance with the provisions of Law No. (2) of 1446 AH, ensuring the regular disbursement of pensions, with 12 pension payments to be made annually.
He pointed out that this step came as a result of intensive efforts and continuous coordination with the Ministers of Finance and Civil Service and Administrative Development to ensure the continued and regular disbursement of pensions. This initiative is part of the Change and Reconstruction Government program, which prioritizes retirees in recognition of their contributions and long service to the nation. The head of the Authority called on retirees and their representatives to go to post offices with the necessary documents to facilitate pension payments.
He praised the significant cooperation from relevant authorities, especially the Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen, along with the staff of the Authority, the Ministries of Civil Service and Finance, the Central Bank, and the Postal Savings Authority, who contributed to the success of the disbursement process.
