Pharmaceutical Company Destroys Quantity of Empty Ampoules of Narcotic Drugs

Sana’a: The Yemeni Pharmaceutical Company (YEDCO) in Sana’a has destroyed a quantity of empty ampoules of narcotic drugs that were withdrawn from hospitals during the past year, 2025.



According to Yemen News Agency, the destruction process is an annual operation carried out under the direct supervision of a committee appointed by the Supreme Authority for Medicines at the Ministry of Health and Environment. The General Directorate for Drug Control at the Ministry of Interior also oversees the process to ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards. The initiative is part of an ongoing effort to manage pharmaceutical waste responsibly and prevent any potential misuse of narcotic substances.
