Sana'a: Prime Minister Ahmed al-Rahawi on Saturday participated in an event organized by the Ministry of Local Administration and Rural Development to mark the Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) birthday for 1447 AH. Al-Rahawi highlighted the significance of the celebration, calling for broad public participation and emphasizing Yemenis' historical connection to the Prophet. He urged citizens to embody the Prophet's values of justice, mercy, and morality in daily life.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Prime Minister also condemned Israel's expansionist ambitions under Netanyahu's 'Greater Israel' project and criticized Arab inaction, pledging Yemen's readiness to defend its sovereignty and confront aggression. Speaking at the event, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Administration Mohammed al-Madani stressed that honoring the Prophet serves as both a cultural and moral lesson, inspiring adherence to Islamic values and the fight against oppression.
Dr. Taha al-Mutawakil, member of Ansar Allah's Political Office, linked the commemoration to the ongoing crimes in Gaza, calling for continued mobilization under the guidance of the Prophet's teachings and Yemen's leadership. Religious scholar Fouad Naji highlighted Yemen's unique celebration of the Prophet's birthday, its solidarity with Gaza, and the importance of maintaining a strong connection with the Prophet as a source of guidance and resistance against injustice.
The event included recitations by the Taiz cultural troupe and a poem by poet Abdulsalam al-Mutamayiz, with attendance from ministers, university presidents, parliament members, and local officials.
