Al-mahwit: The President of Al-Mahwit University, Dr. Mohammed Al-Shalabi, reviewed the ongoing rehabilitation and preparation works at the Faculty of Agriculture project, focusing on the level of achievement in the faculty buildings, student housing, and academic and service facilities.
According to Yemen News Agency, Dr. Al-Shalabi was accompanied by the Cultural Advisor to the University President and Assistant Secretary-General, Khaled Al-Qazhi, the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Amin Al-Azab, and the Director of Projects at the University, Engineer Mohammed Hassan Al-Ariji. They listened to a briefing on the ongoing works, including the furnishing of buildings, completion of lecture halls, laboratories, and the provision of seats, educational supplies, and student housing. These efforts are part of the preparations for the opening of the faculty and the reception of the first cohort of students.
The University President affirmed the commitment to completing the academic and administrative facilities at the faculty according to the set timeline. He regarded the opening of the Faculty of Agriculture as a significant addition to the university's academic offerings and part of its plans to expand in scientific specializations that fulfill community needs and labor market demands.
Dr. Al-Shalabi noted that the university is concurrently working to ensure the readiness of the faculty to commence education according to approved academic standards, aimed at serving the agricultural sector and achieving sustainable development. He emphasized that the establishment of the Faculty of Agriculture shows the university leadership's dedication to developing agricultural education and supporting efforts toward food security, by training individuals capable of using modern knowledge and skills in advancing agricultural and animal resources.
The President appreciated the efforts of the engineering, technical, and administrative teams working on the project, stressing the importance of continuing efforts to complete the remaining tasks according to the planned schedule.
