Taiz:The National Prisoners Affairs Committee has expressed strong condemnation of Saudi-backed mercenaries in Taiz for committing an egregious act against the body of a Yemeni armed forces martyr.
According to Yemen News Agency, the committee stated that the mercenaries stripped the martyr's body, exposed it, filmed the act, and circulated the footage, displaying pride in their actions. This incident has caused outrage among Yemenis and observers throughout the Arab and Islamic world.
The committee emphasized that the crime reflects an extremist culture that is foreign to Yemeni customs, values, and traditions, attributing this influence to the Saudi adversaries who are accused of promoting such behavior among criminal militias. The committee asserted that the crime does not represent the Yemeni people or the residents of Taiz and described it as indicative of an extremist approach that undermines the dignity and rights of those opposed to it.
Holding the Saudi enemy morally and legally accountable for the crime and similar violations against prisoners since the war began in 2015, the committee stressed that such acts are not subject to a statute of limitations. It urged security and judicial authorities to identify and prosecute those responsible and called on Yemeni tribes, dignitaries, and the public to denounce the crime.
Additionally, the committee appealed to local and international organizations to condemn the act and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.
