Ibb: The Prosecutor General, Judge Abdul Salam Al-Houthi, along with the Governor of Ibb, Abdul Wahid Salah, and members of a joint committee from the Presidency and the Prosecution, conducted an inspection of the Central Correctional Facility in the governorate to assess the conditions of the prisoners.
According to Yemen News Agency, the officials engaged with several prisoners, focusing on those sentenced to deprivation of liberty and detainees held on private rights claims. They examined the prisoners' case files to determine compliance with legal procedures.
The Prosecutor General emphasized that the field visit is part of an initiative to closely monitor prison conditions and expedite case resolutions. This effort aims to address the situations of prisoners eligible for release, enhancing the rule of law and protecting all parties' rights.
He highlighted the Public Prosecution's commitment to reviewing prisoners' cases, particularly those involving private rights, and taking appropriate legal actions for those qualified for release under established guidelines.
Governor Salah expressed the local authority's dedication to monitoring the status of detainees held on private rights claims. He confirmed ongoing coordination with judicial and security bodies to develop legal and humanitarian solutions to ease the burden on eligible detainees.
Governor Salah underscored that resolving prisoners' issues and releasing those who meet the legal criteria is a shared responsibility. He stressed the need for coordinated efforts among relevant authorities, continued field visits, and thorough case reviews to ensure justice and protect rights without compromising victims' or private rights holders' interests.
