Sana'a: Sana'a Wahda Club organized a Ramadan evening on Monday for the club's founders, veterans, and former star players.
According to Yemen News Agency, the evening was attended by the Secretary-General of the Capital Secretariat and Chairman of Wahda Club, Amin Jamman. Hamoud Al-Naqeeb, head of the Social Affairs Committee of the Capital Secretariat, praised the club leadership's efforts in organizing the sports gathering to review the club's status and its key sporting roles. He described Wahda Club as a fully integrated sports institution, both organizationally and culturally, and regarded it as a stronghold for all athletes while supporting official efforts to develop Yemen's sports and youth movement.
Abdullah Obeid, Director of the Youth and Sports Office in the Capital, highlighted the importance of the evening, which saw the participation of a distinguished group of Wahda Club's stars and founders. He noted their contributions to the club's growth, making it one of the leading and exemplary clubs administratively, organizationally, technically, culturally, and athletically.
Meanwhile, the club's Secretary-General, Mohammed Al-Sadiq, commended the efforts of the club's veterans, founders, and former stars, who laid the foundation for this historic sports institution. He also reviewed the club's recent achievements, particularly the projects implemented to enhance infrastructure and modern facilities, turning the club into a prestigious sports and youth hub.
Mohammed Al-Sarmi, Vice President of Al-Ahli Club in Sana'a, affirmed that Wahda Club is one of the most active and exemplary clubs in administration and development. He praised the leadership's role in fostering sports activities and emphasized the crucial role sports clubs should play in serving youth and athletes and advancing the sports and youth landscape to higher levels.
Former Yemeni football star Jamal Hamdi described Wahda Club, under the leadership of its captain Amin Jamman, as a prestigious and pioneering sports institution committed to athletic development and sports infrastructure. He confirmed the support of the sports community and Yemeni sports stars for all efforts to develop the club and enhance its activities.
Speeches were delivered by the club's founders and veterans, expressing gratitude for organizing the evening, which helps reunite the club's founders and veterans. They praised the club's achievements under Jamman's leadership, including its extensive investment projects, reaffirming their support for the captain of the club's legacy and the leader of its development journey.
The evening concluded with the attendance of prominent figures in the sports movement and national team stars, during which Amin Jamman, Chairman of Sana'a Wahda Club, honored Major General Ali Mohammed Salah, the club's first president, with the club's shield.
