Red Sea Ports Review Financial and Operational Performance

Hodeidah: The Board of Directors of the Yemen Red Sea Ports Corporation convened on Monday, led by Minister of Transport and Public Works Mohammed Quhim, alongside Hodeidah Governor Abdullah Atefi, to evaluate the corporation's financial, administrative, and operational reports, and assess the overall performance of its ports.

According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting, which included Board Chairman Zaid Al-Washli and Deputy Chairman Nasr Al-Nusairi, focused on the operational status of the ports of Hodeidah, Salif, and Ras Isa. Discussions centered on their technical and operational requirements, recent performance metrics, and strategies to enhance efficiency.

Participants acknowledged the corporation's perseverance amid ongoing challenges and adverse circumstances, including repeated attacks. They noted that the ports have successfully maintained regular vessel arrivals and cargo handling operations.

Officials also received updates on the performance of the corporation's departments, as well as ongoing efforts to streamline operations and address technical and administrative challenges to ensure uninterrupted services.

Minister Quhim commended the corporation's leadership and workforce for sustaining port operations. He emphasized the importance of reinforcing discipline, improving operational readiness, and enhancing technical and administrative performance. Additionally, he called for ongoing improvements in port services and the facilitation of vessel, cargo, and fuel shipments to bolster the national economy.

Governor Atefi underscored the critical role of the Red Sea ports in maintaining the flow of essential supplies. He stressed the need for continued coordination among relevant authorities to optimize efficiency.

Board Chairman Al-Washli noted that the reports demonstrated stable operational performance over the past period, confirming the corporation's commitment to overcoming challenges and improving efficiency.

The board approved the financial, administrative, and operational reports, endorsing several recommendations aimed at enhancing institutional performance and operational efficiency across the corporation and its affiliated ports.
