Sa'ada: Member of the Prison Monitoring Committee, Kamil Ghaithah, inspected on Sunday the conditions of detainees in several detention and holding centers at police departments and security districts in Sa'ada Governorate. Ghaithah's inspection led to the immediate release of 20 prisoners, with an additional 21 released under legal guarantees.
According to Yemen News Agency, Ghaithah reviewed the standards of accommodation and care in detention facilities affiliated with police departments, security directorates, criminal investigation, intelligence, anti-narcotics units, and prosecution detention centers. He also took the opportunity to listen to inmates' statements regarding their cases and those eligible for release.
The committee member explained that the field inspection is part of the directives from the Leader of the Revolution and the President of the Supreme Political Council. These directives aim to improve living conditions in prisons in cooperation with relevant authorities and address inmates' cases in accordance with legal frameworks.
Ghaithah praised the efforts of security personnel in combating crime, stressing the importance of community cooperation with security agencies to maintain public safety and stability.
