Sana'a: The field visit by the President of the Judicial Inspection Authority, Judge Dr. Marwan Al-Mahaqri, along with the Chief Prosecutor of Ibb Governorate, Judge Abdulrahman Al-Nazili, and members of the joint committee overseeing the conditions of prisons and prisoners - formed by the Office of the Leader, the Public Prosecutor's Office, and the Ministry of Interior - approved on Thursday the release of 238 prisoners from the Ibb detention center, on the occasion of the Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) birthday.
According to Yemen News Agency, the release decisions included 188 detainees from the central detention facility, in addition to 50 prisoners involved in execution cases, as well as a number of indebted prisoners whose financial obligations to others were covered by the committee and charitable donors, after reviewing their files and confirming that there were no legal obstacles.
Dr. Al-Mahaqri directed the concerned authorities to finalize the lists of eligible prisoners and implement the release decisions immediately, expressing his appreciation for the efforts of the committee and the businessmen who assisted indebted prisoners.
For his part, Sheikh Ali Qarsha, a member of the joint committee representing the Leader, told the Yemeni News Agency (SABA) that the release process is in line with the directives of the Revolution Leader, Sayyid Abdul-Malik Badr Al-Din Al-Houthi, to ensure justice and uphold the rights of the oppressed, noting that the revolutionary leadership pays special attention to prisoners' affairs.
He explained that the committee, which includes Judge Rajeh Zaid from the Public Prosecutor's Office, Colonel Ahmed Al-Muaydi from the Inspector General and Ministry of Interior, and Judge Abdullah Al-Ghalbi from the Grievances Authority, held several meetings with relevant judicial, security bodies and, accompanied by the President of the Judicial Inspection Authority, conducted field visits to monitor the conditions of prisoners and verify the legality of procedures taken against them.
Sheikh Qarsha called on businessmen at home and abroad to help indebted prisoners by covering their financial obligations, contributing to their release, describing it as a religious and humanitarian duty.
He noted that the committee continues its field missions as part of its assigned tasks, coinciding with the Prophet's birthday, which embodies the values of mercy, justice, and solidarity brought by the Messenger of Humanity, Muhammad (PBUH).
