Al-mahwit: The branch of the Transport and Public Works Office, in coordination with the Traffic Department of Bani Saad District in Al-Mahwit Governorate, carried out a field operation on Tuesday to remove random speed bumps along the main Sana'a-Al-Hudaydah road.
According to Yemen News Agency, the operation aimed to improve road safety, facilitate smooth traffic flow, and reduce accidents caused by speed bumps that had been installed randomly without coordination with the relevant authorities.
Engineer Mohammed Al-Quaishi, Director of the Transport and Public Works Branch in the district, stated that the field operation is part of efforts to preserve road infrastructure and eliminate violations that negatively affect traffic movement and public safety. He emphasized that installing speed bumps without official permits constitutes a clear legal violation due to its technical and traffic hazards, urging citizens to comply with traffic regulations, cooperate with the authorities, and report any newly installed random speed bumps.
Lieutenant Faiz Jaber, Head of the Accidents Section at the district's Traffic Branch, confirmed the importance of joint coordination between the Transport and Public Works Office and the Traffic Department in carrying out such campaigns, which contributes to enhancing road safety and protecting lives and property. He added that legal measures will be taken against violators who install random speed bumps, warning that continuing such actions will expose offenders to legal accountability under applicable laws.
