Moscow: Data from the Central Bank of Russia showed that the value of Russia’s gold reserves exceeded the $400 billion mark at the end of January for the first time in the country’s history.
According to Yemen News Agency, Russian investments in gold saw a 23.3% increase in mid-winter, reaching an unprecedented level in its modern history estimated at approximately $402.7 billion.
Overall, Russia’s total international reserves, which include gold, foreign currencies, and other assets, grew to reach $826.8 billion by January 30, 2026, also marking a historic high.
The Central Bank of Russia explained that international reserves “increased during the week by approximately $39.9 billion, or 5.1%, mainly due to positive revaluations of the assets comprising these reserves.
