Sa'ada: Sa'ada governor Mohammed Awadh inspected progress on the community-funded al-Hayfatain Dam project in Akbarah area between al-Mahadhir and Bani Owair in Sahar district. The project has an estimated cost of 435.1 million rials and a storage capacity of about 344,000 cubic meters, benefiting more than 4,500 residents and covering nearly 1,000 hectares of agricultural land. Officials were briefed on the project's progress, which has reached 45 percent completion.
According to Yemen News Agency, Governor Awadh praised the community initiative and the technical efforts supervising the project, noting the support provided by the Central Emergency Interventions Unit. He called on local businessmen to support similar initiatives that enhance groundwater recharge and strengthen agricultural sustainability.
