Dhamar: The Governor of Saada, Mohammed Awad, today inspected the progress of work in implementing the "Falah Water Lake" project in Majz District, implemented with funding from the General Authority for Water Resources and Facilities and under a community initiative.
According to Yemen News Agency, Governor Awad, accompanied by the Director of Security of the Governorate, Brigadier General Tariq Al-Karbi, and the Director of the branch of the General Authority for Water Resources and Facilities in the governorate, Engineer Ahmed Al-Jaradi, listened to an explanation about the project's components and the remaining work in completing the excavation and leveling of the lake bed.
The Governor of Saada emphasized the importance of implementing projects for lakes, water barriers, dams, and cisterns in recharging groundwater, especially in the Saada water basin, which is facing excessive depletion amid the expansion of agricultural activities.
He acknowledged the significance of the lake project, which is considered the largest water lake in the governorate, and its critical role in feeding the Saada water basin and thus supporting the agricultural sector.
