Sana’a Administrative Body Reviews Progress on Service Projects

Sana'a: Sana'a governorate Administrative Body held a meeting on Wednesday, chaired by Governor Abdulbasit Al-Hadi, to discuss issues related to the implementation of several service projects.

According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting, attended by Secretary-General of the Local Council Abdulqader Al-Jilani, Administrative Body members Abdul-Salam al-Jaifi, Mahyoub Mahdi, and Ali al-Suhaili, along with Deputy Governor for Technical Affairs Eng. Saleh al-Muntasir, reviewed proposals and requests submitted by a number of executive offices regarding service project initiatives.

The body approved the proposal from the Agricultural and Fishery Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit concerning the rehabilitation initiative for the Maghwan irrigation canal in Al-Tayyal District. It also endorsed the Public Works Office's request to repair and maintain damaged road sections in Tareef Garaf, Bilad Al-Rus District.

The meeting discussed a request regarding price differences in the construction project of the Public Works Office building and assigned a committee to study the matter, evaluate the costs, and compare them with previous projects of similar specifications and requirements.

Additionally, the meeting approved the purchase of equipment for the Executive Project Unit, as outlined in the governorate's 1447 AH development plan.

Governor Al-Hadi reaffirmed the administration's commitment to implementing service projects that address citizens' needs and contribute to improving basic services and developing infrastructure across rural areas.

Meanwhile, the Secretary-General stressed the importance of focusing on essential components, costs, and timelines when preparing project studies in order to reduce obstacles during implementation and completion.

In a related meeting, the Tenders Committee, chaired by Governor Al-Hadi, reviewed several reports from technical committees responsible for analyzing bids submitted for various tenders.

The committee approved the analysis results for the tender to purchase and supply a digital X-ray machine for Bani Mansour Hospital in Al-Haymah Al-Kharijiyah District, as well as the tender for the construction of the Shaab Al-Qalt barrier in Beit Na'am, Hamdan District.

It also reviewed the analysis report for the tender to purchase and supply gabions for the protection of agricultural lands in the governorate. The committee further discussed a request submitted by the Deputy Governor for Technical Affairs and the manager of the Government Complex Building Project to approve change orders-additional, new, or omitted works-related to the project's original contractual quantities.
