Sana’a Event Shows Solidarity with Yemeni Journalists and Victims of Israeli Aggression

Sana'a: The Union of Islamic Radio and Television organized a solidarity event in Sana'a in support of Yemeni journalists and media workers whose institutions were targeted on Monday, including the staff of '26 September' and 'Al-Yemen' newspapers, who were attacked by the Israeli enemy while performing their professional duties.

According to Yemen News Agency, during the event, Deputy Minister of Information Dr. Omar Al-Bakheiti emphasized the importance of protecting media institutions and their personnel, as well as strengthening local and international efforts to hold accountable those responsible for targeting journalists. He also highlighted the necessity of continuing professional media work to convey the truth, shed light on the suffering of the Yemeni people, and enhance the role of media in countering misinformation.

Speeches were delivered by representatives of the Union of Islamic Radio and Television, the Journalists Support Committee, and '26 September' newspaper, underlining the importance of solidarity with Yemeni journalists, supporting press freedom, and upholding professional responsibility in conveying Yemen's voice to the world. They also expressed full solidarity with the families of journalists who were martyred, affirming that truthful reporting remains a means to defend the truth and raise awareness.

At the conclusion of the event, the Union of Islamic Radio and Television - Yemen Office presented honorary shields to '26 September' and 'Al-Yemen' newspapers, in recognition of the efforts and sacrifices of their media staff and in memory of colleagues who were martyred by the Israeli aggression while performing their professional duties.

The event witnessed wide official and media attendance, including leaders from the Ministry of Information, heads of television sectors, directors of national channels and radio stations, along with a distinguished group of journalists, media professionals, content creators, and influencers.
