Sana'a: The Health Office in Sana'a Governorate announced on Tuesday the activation of a state of emergency and the implementation of an expanded emergency and treatment plan during the Eid al-Adha holiday.

According to Yemen News Agency, 16 field emergency teams have been deployed, alongside full readiness across all hospitals and health facilities. The emergency teams have been distributed to the most densely populated and crowded locations and will operate on a shift basis over seven days.

The plan allocates ten emergency teams to highways and main roads. On the 'Sana'a-Hodeidah' road, in the Manakha checkpoint and mountainous slopes area, two emergency teams have been assigned. On the 'Sana'a-Amran' road, in the Hamdan checkpoint and Amran axis, two additional teams have been deployed.

Meanwhile, one emergency team has been assigned to each of the 'Sana'a-Marib' road in the Nihm and Al-Salb area, and the 'Sana'a-Dhamar' road in the Sanban and Bilad Al-Rus area. In addition, four mobile teams have been designated to cover highways in the districts of Al-Haymah, Arhab, and Bilad Al-Rus. Four emergency teams have also been allocated to water dams, and two medical teams to public parks and recreational areas.

The plan also noted that two standby ambulances have been assigned to the governorate's emergency center to ensure rapid response and immediate support when needed.

As part of the plan, the Health Office announced full readiness in the governorate's hospitals, with 24-hour shift systems activated in emergency and maternity departments. Operating rooms have been prepared to receive emergency cases, and sufficient stocks of medicines, IV fluids, and blood units have been secured.

The Health Office urged citizens to immediately contact the designated toll-free emergency number in case of any medical emergency, emphasizing the importance of accurately specifying the location.

It also stressed the need for caution and vigilance while driving on highways, particularly in the mountainous curves of Manakha, Al-Haymah, Hamdan, Arhab, and Bilad Al-Rus, and warned against approaching dam edges or swimming in them, as well as preventing children from using firecrackers and plastic toy guns.
