Sana’a: The Sana’a International Coffee Exhibition, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources through the General Organization for Coffee Development and Marketing, is set to commence on Sunday in Sana’a. The exhibition will run for five days, focusing on the advancement and marketing of coffee cultivation.
According to Yemen News Agency, the event seeks to enhance coffee production, improve marketing strategies, and promote Yemeni coffee in international markets. The Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources Minister and Chairman of the Preparatory Committee, Dr. Radwan Al-Rabaei, stated that the exhibition will feature participation from coffee traders, exporters, agricultural associations specializing in coffee, the Union of Coffee Producers Associations, farmers, and industry specialists. They will present the latest products and technologies related to coffee.
Dr. Al-Rabaei emphasized that the exhibition’s primary goal is to increase awareness about the significance of coffee cultivation and its productivity. He noted the unique characteristics and advantages of Yemeni coffee, highlighting its potential to generate profits that surpass production costs. Moreover, coffee exports contribute to the national economy by earning hard currency.
The minister also mentioned that the exhibition is part of the activities for National Coffee Day, aiming to introduce Yemeni coffee and promote it as a strategic crop. Co-organized by various entities and funded by the Agricultural and Fisheries Production Promotion Fund, the exhibition will offer numerous activities. These include displays of coffee products from different Yemeni regions, training workshops, scientific seminars on the coffee value chain, and cultural activities to emphasize coffee’s role as a cultural and historical heritage of Yemen.
