Sana’a: The Ministry of Finance and the Capital Sana’a on Sunday launched an electronic collection service for revenues in the Cleanliness and Improvement Fund. The service, linked to the comprehensive unified accounting system and powered through CAC Bank Mobile Money Wallet, is designed to enhance the efficiency of the Fund’s revenue collection.
According to Yemen News Agency, Minister of Finance Abduljabbar Mohammed emphasized that electronic collection would significantly improve the Fund’s revenues and governance. He highlighted the success of similar systems in other government agencies, such as the Tax Authority, where electronic collection has reached 100%. The Minister also noted plans to automate disbursement processes in the future, moving toward reducing cash transactions and improving financial liquidity management.
Dr. Hamoud Ubad, Secretary of the Capital Sana’a, praised the initiative, linking it to the construction of a modern Yemeni state as directed by the Leader of the Revolution. He emphasized that the electronic system would increase transparency, help monitor funds effectively, and ensure citizens’ contributions are directed properly.
The Cleanliness and Improvement Fund, which plays a key role in maintaining the environment and public health in Sana’a, faces several challenges due to increased population and insufficient resources. However, this new electronic collection system is expected to help address financial imbalances and improve the Fund’s operations.
The launch ceremony, attended by senior officials, included a demonstration of the electronic payment system, showcasing its potential to boost revenue and enhance cleanliness efforts in the capital.
