According to Yemen News Agency, on the 12th of Rabi' al-Awwal, the Yemeni people hold a grand celebration to honor and commemorate the birth of the Prophet Muhammad, expressing love, joy, and gratitude for the divine blessing and mercy represented by the Prophet, whom God sent to guide humanity from darkness into light. These days, the capital is witnessing exceptional official and popular activity, with preparations reflecting the joy and spiritual significance of the occasion. To improve the capital's aesthetic and civilized appearance, the Capital Secretariat, through dozens of field teams, various equipment, and machinery, continues to carry out extensive cleaning campaigns and traffic improvements, as well as road and sidewalk repairs and maintenance, painting, landscaping, removal of waste, informal structures, and the elimination of visual blight across streets, squares, and public spaces.
Secretary of the Capital Dr. Hamoud Abbad said the Yemeni people's grand celebration of this occasion reflects joy, happiness, and appreciation for Allah's blessings, recognition of His grace and favor, as stated in the Holy Quran: 'Say: In the bounty of Allah and in His mercy-in that let them rejoice; it is better than what they accumulate.' He explained that the Yemeni people regard the Prophet's birthday as an educational, cultural, enlightenment, and charitable season, featuring numerous activities and events that strengthen faith, insight, awareness, connection, steadfastness, sacrifice, generosity, and a sense of responsibility, drawing inspiration from the life of the Noble Prophet and guided by his teachings.
The Mayor of the capital emphasized the need for optimal preparations and exceptional arrangements for the largest Muhammadi celebration, marking the birth of guidance, mercy, goodness, monotheism, and liberation from bondage. He noted that the Capital Secretariat had mobilized all efforts at an early stage and allocated resources for services, sanitation, beautification, landscaping, maintenance, restoration, and the preparation of the two main event venues at Al-Sabeen Square, the Military College to welcome the Prophet's guests and present the capital in a dignified manner befitting the significance, sanctity, and greatness of the occasion.
Abbad highlighted the intensive preparations being carried out by all sectors, offices, and districts, alongside an unprecedented level of community engagement in neighborhoods and local areas through celebrations, decoration campaigns, charitable and social solidarity initiatives, sanitation, tree planting, and beautification efforts, culminating in the massive gathering at the largest Muhammadi festival at Al-Sabeen Square.
He stressed the importance of strengthening adherence to the example of the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, as a source of guidance and a model to follow; presenting a practical example inspired by his Quranic mission; drawing on his high spirit of struggle in firmness toward the unbelievers and mercy toward the believers; and taking strong positions in confronting the enemies of Allah, His Messenger, and the nation.
The Mayor called on all residents of the Capital Secretariat to continue the celebratory events and activities and to mobilize on a large scale for the central event on 12 Rabi' al-Awwal, sending a resounding message to the tyrants of global arrogance and their hypocritical allies that Yemen, its leadership, people, remains connected to its Prophet, committed to the Quran, his path, its identity, and is fully prepared to break the blockade, end aggression and occupation, secure its legitimate and just rights.
First Deputy Mayor Khalid Al-Madani affirmed that commemorating the Prophet's birth expresses reverence, veneration, and respect for the greatest human being to walk the earth, whom Allah chose and selected as the Seal of the Prophets and Master of the Messengers, Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, whom Allah commanded Muslims to honor and revere.
He noted that the Yemeni people have achieved many victories and significant developments as a result of their strong and sustained engagement with this occasion, stressing that honoring the Messenger of Allah is one of the factors contributing to dignity and victory in confronting the Jews, Christians, and their allies. He highlighted the significance of commemorating this great occasion by recalling the noble life, struggles, and positions of the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, in confronting unbelievers and hypocrites, and linking them to the nation's responsibility to confront the forces of tyranny and global arrogance today, represented by Zionism and its arms, the United States and Israel, as well as their Arab allies, foremost among them the Saudi regime.
Al-Madani noted that adherence to the Quran and the Noble Prophet is the path to the nation's success, dignity, strength, and empowerment against its enemies, as well as to supporting the oppressed and defending the causes and sanctities of Islam and Muslims. He stressed the importance of deepening the bond with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, as the model and practical example in faith, morality, mercy, benevolence, struggle, and the assumption of responsibility, while consolidating the values of brotherhood, solidarity, unity, and strengthening readiness to confront aggression and the blockade.
As the occasion approaches, the Yemeni people are preparing for massive gatherings and participation in major events on 12 Rabi' al-Awwal, expressing reverence, love, joy, and celebration of the birth of the best of creation and the Prophet of mercy and humanity, Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family.
