Sanaa: The Sanaa University Council, under the leadership of university president Dr. Mohammed Al Bukhayti, convened to deliberate on a series of academic and administrative subjects pertinent to the educational framework at the institution.
According to Yemen News Agency, the council, which included vice presidents, assistants, and deans of faculties, sanctioned the adoption of scientific research presented at conferences organized by Sanaa University. These studies, published in journals indexed in Scopus or Clarivate, will serve as alternative research for the locally required publications needed to complete a master's degree.
Furthermore, the council validated the graduate lists from various faculties, including Arts and Humanities, Dentistry, Engineering, and others. The council also confirmed the permanent appointment, regularization, and promotion of 19 faculty members while contracting three faculty members on an hourly basis in specific faculties.
The council endorsed study plans for the master's preparatory program in Biodiversity and Environment at the Genetic Resources Centre. It also approved the results for 29 researchers in master's and doctoral programs, along with the results of 15 students in diploma programs aimed at level improvement and non-specialists.
The meeting also addressed various topics related to academic and student affairs, as well as scientific centers, leading to appropriate decisions. During the meeting, the university president highlighted the 36th National Day of the Republic of Yemen, celebrated by planting 2,400 coffee trees to promote green spaces and coffee cultivation as a national emblem of Yemeni identity.
The president commended the success of the academic year 1447H and encouraged entering the new year with a positive approach and academic accountability, aimed at enhancing performance and development at the university.
