Sana'a: The Sana'a University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine inaugurated on Tuesday its second scientific conference to discuss graduation research projects for the academic year 2025-2026 under the slogan: 'Scientific Research: The Path of the Veterinarian Toward Excellence.'
According to Yemen News Agency, the two-day event presents eight research papers by 45 graduating students, covering topics such as calf diarrhea diagnosis, medicinal plant antimicrobial properties, livestock diseases, parasite control, poultry and cattle anatomy, and zoonotic disease risks.
At the opening, Dr. Abdulraouf Al-Shawkani of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources stressed the need for a community-based approach, aiming to deploy veterinarians in rural areas and strengthen livestock services. He also highlighted cooperation with the private sector as essential for supporting farmers and achieving economic recovery.
University officials praised the scientific quality of the research and emphasized the importance of veterinary medicine in protecting animal resources, ensuring food security, and preventing diseases transmitted from animals to humans. They called for expanding the number of qualified specialists in this vital field.
