Sana'a: The President of Sana'a University, Dr. Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, recently met with Marwa Al-Habbari, a distinguished visually impaired researcher who has been honored with the Best Master's Thesis award on Arab Women's Issues.
According to Yemen News Agency, this award is organized by the Arab Women Organization, which operates under the League of Arab States. Dr. Al-Bukhaiti commended Al-Habbari for her determination, which he described as a transformative force that turned challenges into success. He emphasized that her achievement is a significant milestone that highlights the capabilities of Yemeni women to innovate and excel despite challenging circumstances.
Dr. Al-Bukhaiti also underscored the university's commitment to supporting students with disabilities by fostering an educational environment conducive to unlocking their potential. He announced that Al-Habbari would be honored alongside other scholars at the university's annual 'Science Day' event, following her shared victory with Palestinian researcher Rana Al-Shaheen. Their winning thesis, titled 'The Social and Economic Empowerment of Yemeni Women with Disabilities and Its Relationship to Development - A Case Study in the Capital Secretariat,' earned them first place.
Marwa Al-Habbari expressed her joy at the recognition, viewing it as a beacon of hope for individuals with disabilities. She conveyed her gratitude to the university leadership for their support, noting that her achievement was based on the scientific merit of her research, amid competition from thirty female researchers from fifteen Arab countries.
Dr. Halima Jahaf, Director of the Comprehensive Development Center, and Dr. Ilham Al-Ridha, the thesis supervisor, lauded the researcher's perseverance, attributing the success to her dedication and continuous scientific efforts.
