Sana'a: Several districts in Sana'a Governorate witnessed large public rallies and mass gatherings to mark International Quds Day, in solidarity with the Palestinian people, Al-Aqsa Mosque, and to reaffirm the Yemeni people's continued support for the Palestinian cause and the holy sites of the Islamic nation.
According to Yemen News Agency, participants in the rallies in the districts of Manakhah, Sa'fan, and Al-Haymatain Al-Dakhiliyah and Al-Kharijiyah raised the flags of Yemen, Palestine, and Iran, as well as banners expressing disavowal of enemies, renewing their pledge of loyalty to Jerusalem and support for the Palestinian people and their just cause until the full restoration of their occupied land and the establishment of an independent state with Al-Quds as its capital.
Chants of dignity, pride, jihad, and resistance were raised, affirming to enemies and to the world that the Yemeni people remain ready for any developments and are prepared to confront what they described as forces of tyranny and global arrogance.
A statement issued during the rallies said that the large public turnout came in commemoration of International Quds Day, declared by Imam Ruhollah Khomeini on the last Friday of Ramadan, describing the event as a religious and moral duty.
The statement noted that this year's Quds Day comes at a sensitive and exceptional stage in the history of the conflict with what it described as global Zionism and its allies. It condemned what it described as the U.S.-Israeli aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran, saying it targets the entire Islamic nation and forms part of a project referred to as 'Greater Israel,' which it said threatens the entire region.
The statement also denounced the continued Israeli actions in Gaza and the West Bank, violations at Al-Aqsa Mosque, and attacks on Lebanon and Syria. It praised the resilience of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, the Iranian army, Hezbollah, and armed factions in Iraq, describing their actions as resistance to aggression and attacks on military bases in the region.
The statement affirmed that Yemen's commemoration of International Quds Day reflects its continued commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause and standing with the issues of the Islamic nation. Participants also expressed solidarity with Iran's leadership, people, armed forces, and Revolutionary Guard, praising what they described as their steadfastness.
The statement called on the peoples of the Islamic nation to commemorate International Quds Day and to fulfill what it described as their religious and moral responsibility toward the Palestinian cause. The rallies concluded with prayers for victory for the Palestinian people and for those they described as resistance forces in the region, asking Allah to grant mercy to the martyrs, healing to the wounded, and freedom for prisoners.
