Saudi Actions in Bab al-Mandab Criticized by Yemeni Foreign Ministry

Sanaa:The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has criticized Saudi Arabia, holding it responsible for the escalating tensions in Bab al-Mandab.

According to Yemen News Agency, the Yemeni Foreign Ministry has urged the international community to press Saudi Arabia to honor its commitments to the Yemeni people, including lifting the blockade and ceasing aggression, rather than initiating conflict in Bab al-Mandab.

The ministry stated that Saudi actions have turned Bab al-Mandab into a battlefield, posing a significant threat to maritime navigation. It further highlighted the international community's inconsistent response, condemning the outcry when Yemen exerted sovereignty over its territories, while remaining silent over Saudi Arabia's militarization of Bab al-Mandab, which it claims benefits American and Israeli interests.

The ministry reiterated that Saudi Arabia is fully responsible for the ongoing conflict in the region.
