Sanaa:The Government Spokesman, Dr. Omar Al-Bukhaiti, has condemned the recent actions of Saudi Arabia, alleging an increase in violent incidents against Yemeni citizens, including five massacres within a 24-hour period.
According to Yemen News Agency, Dr. Al-Bukhaiti described the escalation by Saudi forces as a deliberate attempt to inflict maximum harm on the Yemeni population, specifically targeting women and children. He criticized the targeting of civilian areas such as homes, farms, and migrant shelters, labeling these actions as reflective of a malicious intent.
Dr. Al-Bukhaiti further emphasized that these acts show a blatant disregard for ongoing peace efforts and represent a rejection of conflict resolution initiatives. Despite the severity of the situation, he expressed confidence that the Yemeni people will persist in their struggle until their rights are fully restored.
He also highlighted retaliatory actions by the Yemeni Armed Forces, which have reportedly launched counterattacks deep within Saudi territory. Al-Bukhaiti stressed that Yemen would continue its defensive operations until the cessation of aggression and the restoration of national sovereignty and rights.
The statement pointed out the continuation of Saudi offensives over the past 100 days, involving more than 3,123 airstrikes and resulting in significant civilian casualties. Dr. Al-Bukhaiti also noted the humanitarian crisis, marked by a severe lack of medical supplies and restrictions on travel for medical treatment, attributing the deaths of over a million citizens to these conditions.
Concluding his remarks, Dr. Al-Bukhaiti criticized international and UN silence, as well as the perceived complicity of various governments, as factors contributing to the ongoing violence in Yemen. He argued that these actions reveal double standards and undermine the global human rights discourse.
