Taiz Province Hosts Annual Martyr’s Anniversary Commemoration

Taiz:The "Annual Martyr's Anniversary" (1448 AH) was inaugurated on Saturday in the Taiz governorate with a formal event organized by the local authority.

According to Yemen News Agency, the event was attended by Taiz Province Undersecretary Mohammed Al-Husseini and Taha Al-Barihi. Radwan Al-Mahya, a member of the Association of Scholars of Yemen, addressed the audience, describing martyrs as the "allies of Allah" and His chosen ones, while referring to mujahideen as the "elite" and martyrs as the "elite of the elite."

He emphasized the high status of martyrs in the sight of Allah and urged reflection on the sacrifices made by those who gave their lives for Allah, defending the nation and its dignity. Scholar Ahmed Al-Marouni, also from the Association of Scholars of Yemen, remarked on the honor of participating in the Martyr's Anniversary. Al-Marouni stated that without jihad, the nation would be fragmented and under the control of Zionists and Americans.

He expressed that Yemen is engaged in a battle against the enemies of Allah and highlighted the importance of understanding martyrdom's significance. He affirmed jihad and martyrdom as essential for instilling fear in oppressors and deterring criminals who harm innocents. Post-event, participants, along with Ali Al-Junaid, director of the Taiz branch of the General Authority for the Care of Martyrs' Families, visited the Al-Sammad Martyrs' Cemetery in Al-Hawban, where they recited Al-Fatiha for the martyrs' souls. Commemorative events including speeches also took place across Taiz Governorate districts, with visits to local martyrs' cemeteries.
