Baku:Socotra Archipelago Meteorologists are predicting scattered rainfall and strong winds in the Arabian Sea region. The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning has reported that weather maps, numerical model outputs, and satellite images show a significant low-pressure area moving west-northwest from the southwest of the Arabian Sea.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Center's weather bulletin forecasts thunderstorms of varying intensity, accompanied by strong downdraft winds. These conditions are expected to significantly reduce horizontal visibility due to heavy rainfall over the Socotra Archipelago.
The weather system's effects are anticipated to extend to the eastern territorial waters, the Gulf of Aden, and parts of the eastern and southern coasts, as well as adjacent inland areas. Strong winds, ranging from 18 to 28 knots, are likely to cause high waves and rough seas around the Socotra Archipelago and in the Gulf of Aden.
Fishermen and ship captains have been warned against taking risks by sailing in these areas. Residents of the Socotra Archipelago are also advised to stay away from flood channels due to the risk of thunderstorms.
