Dhamar Wastewater Treatment Plant Resumes Operations After Two-Year Hiatus

Dhamar:The Local Water and Sewerage Corporation in Dhamar province has successfully restarted the city's wastewater treatment plant. This development comes after the plant had been shut down for approximately two years. Maintenance work was completed using the corporation's own resources.

According to Yemen News Agency, Corporation Director Abdul Ghani Al-Mukhtar stated that the maintenance involved repairing and cleaning several treatment basins. These efforts have enabled the plant to resume its operations, now processing around 7,500 cubic meters of wastewater daily.

The Local Water and Sewerage Corporation is actively monitoring the quality of the treated water to ensure it adheres to environmental and health standards. Al-Mukhtar emphasized the necessity of expanding the plant's capacity to accommodate growing demand and warned about the potential environmental risks posed by sewage pollution.

Furthermore, Al-Mukhtar urged residents and farmers to adhere to safe-use guidelines and refrain from dumping solid waste or rainwater into the sewage networks.
