Hodeidah:The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries has condemned an airstrike by Saudi forces on a citizen's farm in Al-Munqim village, located in the Al-Durayhimi District of Hodeidah Governorate. The attack resulted in the death of several livestock and caused damage to the farm and citizens' property.
According to Yemen News Agency, the ministry stated that the targeting of agricultural and livestock sectors is part of a systematic campaign against the Yemeni people and their livelihoods. The ministry emphasized that such attacks are designed to undermine food security and destroy vital agricultural infrastructure that supports the majority of the population.
The ministry has called on the United Nations and international and humanitarian organizations to take action by condemning the attacks on civilian property and productive sectors. It urged these bodies to work towards ending the aggression and lifting the blockade. Furthermore, the ministry highlighted the resilience of the agricultural sector, including its personnel and farmers across Yemen, and stressed their ongoing efforts to sustain production, enhance food security, and promote sustainable development despite the challenges posed by the aggression.
