Sana'a: Acting Prime Minister, Scholar Mohammed Muftah, along with Minister of Education and Scientific Research Hassan Al-Saadi, inaugurated the General Secondary Certificate examinations for the academic year 1447 AH in the Capital Secretariat and across the governorates.
According to Yemen News Agency, a total of 219,232 male and female students are taking the exams, distributed across 1,576 examination centers. Muftah and Al-Saadi, accompanied by the Secretary of the Capital Secretariat Hamoud Abbad, Deputy Minister of Education Dr. Hatem Al-Daees, and several officials from the Ministry of Education and the Capital Secretariat, reviewed the progress of the examinations at the 'Ma'een Boys' and 'Martyr Taher Al-Saifi Girls' centers.
They received a detailed briefing from the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for the Basic Education Sector, Hadi Ammar, Acting Undersecretary for Curriculum and Educational Planning, Hameed Ghathaya, and Head of the Education Sector in the Capital Secretariat, Abdulqader Al-Mahdi, on the efforts made to ensure the success of the examination process.
In a press statement following the launch, Scholar Muftah expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research, as well as to educators and examination committees, for their efforts in organizing the examination process. He noted a significant improvement in discipline within the examination halls, emphasizing the calm and organized environment facilitated by control committees at both the center and governorate levels.
The Acting Prime Minister commended the resilience of teachers and educational staff in overcoming challenging circumstances. He urged parents to create supportive environments for students to focus on their studies and achieve high ranks.
Minister of Education and Scientific Research Al-Saadi reiterated the ministry's commitment to ensuring the success of the General Certificate examinations. He highlighted the ongoing efforts to improve educational outcomes and acknowledged the dedication of teachers, administrators, and staff in sustaining the educational process despite adversities.
Al-Saadi reported that a total of 521,463 students, including those in basic education, are sitting for the General Certificate examinations, spread across 4,331 centers. He noted the involvement of over 65,000 educational and administrative personnel, along with local authorities and security committees, in managing and implementing the exams.
The minister expressed his gratitude to all contributors to the examination process, wishing students success and excellence.
