Sanaa: Young scouts and scouting leaders from Sanaa and Sanaa Province are set to hold a scouting carnival at Al-Tahrir Square in the capital to mark the 12th anniversary of the September 21 Revolution.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Scouts and Guides Association, in collaboration with the Capital Secretariat, is organizing the event, which will feature 400 young scouts and scouting leaders. This annual gathering is held to honor the revolution that liberated Yemen's decision-making from foreign influence.
Preparations for the carnival have been underway, with rehearsals conducted this morning at Al-Dharafi Stadium. General Scouting Commissioner Abdullah Obaid confirmed that all preparations are complete and that preliminary rehearsals involved participants from both the Capital Secretariat and Sanaa Province.
The event is described as a part of the ongoing struggle for liberation and independence in Yemen. The scouts aim to highlight their commitment to national causes, including lifting blockades, ending aggression, securing rights, driving out occupation, and reclaiming resources.
The Secretary-General of the Scouts and Guides Association, Mutahar Al-Sawari, along with Capital Secretariat Scouting Commissioner Ali Shamlan and Sanaa Province Scouting Commissioner Abdulhamid Al-Mutri, emphasized the significance of the event. It is an annual tradition linked to the scouting movement, and the youth are proud to participate in this national commemoration.
Sunday evening's carnival will include a parade by scouts from both regions, an artistic performance, and sports demonstrations, representing various segments of society. The leaders affirmed the readiness of the young scouts to participate in the event that symbolizes the expulsion of forces of collaboration and dominance from Sanaa and the free areas.
