Sana'a: Ammar Al-Karim, Acting Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources, inspected on Saturday the progress of preparations for the "Good Land" (Al-Balda Al-Tayyiba) Festival. The festival is organized by the Ministry and runs from September 23 to 30, featuring broad participation from farmers and producers.
According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Karim was accompanied by Jamal Al-Alawi, Director of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local and Rural Administration and Development, and Atef Al-Musalli, Deputy Governor of Sana'a, during his visit. The Acting Minister received a briefing from the festival organizers, discussing the setup and the exhibition pavilions that will showcase crops and agricultural products. These displays are intended to reflect the richness of local production while providing farmers with a marketing platform to present their harvests.
Al-Karim emphasized the need for coordinated efforts among authorities, farmers, and producers to support local production and improve marketing opportunities for agricultural products. He reaffirmed the Ministry's commitment to providing necessary facilities and support to ensure the festival's success, benefiting farmers and producers and strengthening the market presence of local agricultural products.
The festival will feature displays of grains, various agricultural crops, and other local products, highlighting the diversity of Yemeni agricultural output. This event aims to encourage local production, support farmers, boost the marketing of agricultural products, and showcase the unique qualities of Yemeni crops. It also seeks to promote a culture of reliance on national products and encourage consumers to purchase locally produced goods.
Additionally, Al-Karim, along with Al-Alawi and Al-Musalli, visited the permanent national exhibition for locally manufactured fertilizers and pesticides. They inspected the locally produced agricultural supplies and production inputs on display. During this visit, Al-Karim stressed the importance of supporting national industries linked to the agricultural sector and enhancing the quality of production inputs, measures that he believes will yield positive results for farmers. He also highlighted the exhibition's role in showcasing available national products and meeting the agricultural sector's needs.
