Milhan: The Secretary-General of the Presidency and Head of the Presidential Committee Supervising the Central Mawlid al-Nabawi Celebration Event in Al-Mahwit Governorate, Hassan Sharaf al-Din, along with Deputy Governor Ali Abdulkarim, inspected the conditions of citizens affected by floods and rockfalls in the Milhan District.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the field visit to the Qiblah Milhan area, Sharaf al-Din assessed the extent of damage to citizens' properties, homes, roads, and public services caused by the floods and rockfalls. He reviewed ongoing efforts to address the aftermath and alleviate the suffering of those affected. The inspection revealed significant erosion and property damage, including the collapse of several homes and structures.
The Secretary-General noted that a project to build 19 housing units for the affected families is underway, thanks to the collaboration of philanthropists, the Binyan Foundation, and the local district authority. This initiative aims to provide suitable housing and alleviate the suffering of affected families.
Sharaf al-Din emphasized the importance of field visits and direct inspections to better identify needs and develop appropriate responses. He reassured that despite the challenging terrain in some areas of Milhan, efforts will continue to address citizens' needs, improve roads, water networks, and essential services.
During the visit, Sharaf al-Din listened to residents who highlighted the main difficulties they face, such as inadequate roads, water supplies, and basic services. The community emphasized the importance of continued efforts to mitigate the effects of floods and rockfalls and to open roads leading to affected villages.
Deputy Governor Ali Abdulkarim affirmed that the local authority and relevant bodies are actively working to open and pave roads in affected areas, aiming to improve the services available to citizens. Meanwhile, the Director of Milhan District expressed appreciation for the visit, which aimed at assessing citizens' conditions and listening to their needs. He praised the ongoing efforts to open roads, address flood and rockfall damage, and support affected families.
