Sana'a: Dr. Hamoud Abbad, Secretary of the Capital, today launched cleanliness and awareness initiatives involving official and community participation, as part of the ongoing preparations to celebrate the Prophet Muhammad's birthday, may peace and blessings be upon him and his family. During the launch held in Maeen district, the Secretary emphasized that the wide community involvement in the cleanliness initiatives, including volunteer committees and development advocates, reflects the behavior and morals of the Yemeni society rooted in its authentic faith identity.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Secretary pointed out that this campaign is part of the preparations by the Secretariat to welcome the greatest and most important occasion for Muslims in general and Yemenis in particular: the birth of the Greatest Messenger, peace be upon him and his family. He praised the campaign's distinction due to the broad engagement from various popular and official frameworks and community initiatives.
The Secretary noted the improvement in cleanliness efforts across different districts in recent times, highlighting the community's awareness of the importance of maintaining cleanliness and actively participating in campaigns. He stressed the continuation of cleanliness campaigns to boost community participation and environmental awareness among citizens, urging avoidance of negative practices such as dumping waste in streets, neighborhoods, and medians, and adherence to putting out waste during the designated times when sanitation trucks pass.
He called on everyone to present Sana'a in a beautiful appearance worthy of the grandeur of the Prophet's birthday in the hearts of Yemenis, embodying emulation and strong connection to him, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, and following his noble path and teachings.
Meanwhile, Mohammed Sharafuddin, Executive Director of the Cleanliness and Improvement Fund, pointed to the importance of the cleanliness and awareness campaign carried out by the Secretariat in various districts with wide community participation on the occasion of the birth of the best of creation and master of humanity, peace be upon him and his family. He urged all residents of the Capital Secretariat to actively participate in cleanliness initiatives across all neighborhoods, alleys, and streets, ensuring the capital is presented in its best form befitting the grandeur of this religious occasion and reflecting Yemenis' love for their noble Prophet.
Ibrahim Al-Sarabi, Director of the Cleanliness Project, said the campaign aims to embody the values of the Yemeni society's faith identity by maintaining public cleanliness and embedding it as a culture and awareness among all citizens as a community responsibility. He explained that around 300 cleaning tools have been allocated for the campaign alongside all sanitation workers and awareness teams. He called on all citizens to commit to putting out waste at designated times when sanitation trucks pass in front of their homes and shops, preserving the general appearance.
The campaign included the participation of the Secretariat's Deputy Ali Al-Lahaji, Assistant Deputy Sami Sharafuddin, Director of Maeen District Abdulmalik Al-Radhi, Monitoring Director Abdulhalim Al-Sukkari, Environmental Awareness Center head Sharaf Al-Hamzi, along with numerous community initiatives, citizens, and sanitation workers.
