Sana'a: The Shura Council held a rally on Saturday to commemorate the anniversary of Ashura and to affirm the general mobilization and high state of readiness to reclaim the legitimate rights of the Yemeni people.
According to Yemen News Agency, the rally was spearheaded by the Speaker of the Shura Council, Muhammad Hussein al-Aidaroos, with participation from the Deputy Speaker, Dhaifallah Rassam, Council members, and Secretariat staff. The event highlighted Ashura as a source of inspiration, drawing lessons from Imam Hussein's sacrifices at Karbala in his fight against tyranny.
Deputy Speaker Rassam emphasized that the rally was in response to Leader Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi's call for unity and preparation for continued confrontation against aggression, lifting the siege, and freeing occupied territories. The rally also supported the General Mobilization Forces' statement.
A statement by Secretary-General Ali Abdul-Mughni reaffirmed the authority of Leader Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi to make decisions to secure Yemeni rights. It underscored readiness to support armed forces with resources to expel occupation and reclaim rights.
The statement warned Saudi Arabia against evading its obligations, such as ending aggression, lifting the blockade, compensating damages, paying salaries from wealth, and withdrawing from occupied territories. It condemned Lebanese government dealings that benefit the Zionist entity, labeling them a betrayal of resistance efforts.
Warnings were also issued to the Somali region about coordination with the Zionist entity, suggesting it threatens regional security and betrays the Palestinian cause. The statement urged Yemenis to unite and support leadership against division and sedition calls funded by Saudi agents.
A poem by council member Hadi al-Ruzami was recited, expressing full support and authorization for the leader to take necessary measures for homeland defense and territorial liberation.
