Sana'a: The Shura Council condemned in the strongest terms the heinous crime and the recent continued American insult to the Holy Quran, affirming that these provocative acts offend the feelings of more than two billion Muslims around the world and constitute a flagrant aggression against the nation's faith.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Shura Council explained in a statement issued today that the continuation of these violations under the umbrella and protection of the American regime exposes the falsehood of the slogans and classifications that America and some Western countries boast about regarding "freedom of expression."
It pointed out that what is happening is systematic hate speech and a clear fueling of extremism and religious conflicts, holding the US administration directly morally and legally responsible for its negligence and patronage of these heinous crimes, which constitute official complicity threatening international peace and security.
The Shura Council called on Arab and Islamic countries, parliaments and shura councils, and all human rights and international bodies to cut diplomatic relations with the United States of America, and to seriously demand the prosecution of the Zionist criminal and others like him who insult Islamic sanctities.
It stressed the need to take firm stances and enact binding international legislation that prevents attacks on the heavenly scriptures and criminalizes the perpetrators of these acts.
The statement urged the peoples of Arab and Islamic nations to activate the weapon of comprehensive economic boycott of American goods and products, and of countries that allow insults to the Book of Allah, as a faith-based duty and an effective deterrent to protect Islamic sanctities.
The Shura Council renewed its affirmation that the Holy Quran will remain sublime and preserved by Allah's protection and care, and that these desperate attempts will only increase the nation's adherence to the Book of their Lord and pride in their faith-based identity.
