Sana'a: The Shura Council endorsed Monday the Yemeni Armed Forces' announcement of a naval blockade against the Saudi enemy, in response to popular calls and the massive demonstrations on "Friday of Warning and Mobilization," and in affirmation of the "blockade for blockade" principle.
According to Yemen News Agency, in a statement issued, the Shura Council affirmed its full support for all the strategic measures and options announced by the Armed Forces in implementing the naval blockade. The statement considered this strategic decision a legitimate response guaranteed by divine laws and humanitarian principles in the face of tyranny, and in accordance with the Almighty's words: "And whoever avenges himself after being wronged - those are not to be blamed."
The statement indicated that the Saudi enemy's continued blatant blockade for nearly 12 years, its plundering of national resources, its imposition of restrictions on ports and airports, and its targeting of Sana'a International Airport, can no longer be tolerated indefinitely. It emphasized that the Yemeni people have a just cause and have endured immense suffering as a result of the unjust blockade. They have the full right to confront the aggression and the blockade by all available means, especially after the Saudi regime's failure to respond peacefully to their legitimate demands.
The Council reiterated its praise for the high level of readiness of the armed forces and the honorable popular and tribal support, affirming that any act of folly or escalation by the Saudi enemy will be met with a comprehensive escalation capable of pressuring the Saudi regime to return the plundered resources, address the humanitarian crisis, disburse salaries, and resolve the issue of prisoners. The Shura Council called upon the free people of Yemen and its noble tribes to confront this historical juncture with increased mobilization and general call to arms, and to continue supplying the fronts with fighters to support the sovereign options that will completely end the blockade and the aggression.
