Shu’ub District Hosts Cultural Events to Celebrate Prophet’s Birthday

Sana'a: The Shu'ub District in the Capital Secretariat organized a series of cultural and anthemic events to commemorate the anniversary of the Prophet's birthday. During the celebration held by residents of the southern Bir al-Hindi neighborhood, Shura Council member Ahmed al-Sharabi emphasized the significance of this celebration as a divine directive rooted in the Holy Quran. He noted that observing this occasion serves as motivation to overcome challenges facing the nation.

According to Yemen News Agency, Yemeni people's historical connection to the Holy Prophet was highlighted during the event. Ahmed al-Sharabi recalled the era before Islam when al-Tubba' al-Yamani instructed his descendants to settle in Yathrib, anticipating the emergence of the Prophet of the End Times. This historical bond was underscored as a testament to the deep-rooted reverence for the Prophet.

The event witnessed participation from notable figures including Shura Council member Ali al-Sufi, head of the Secretariat's Social Affairs Committee Hamoud al-Naqeeb, and member of the Yemeni Scholars Association Taj al-Din al-Mahtouri. The gathering featured cultural performances, rhetorical segments, and hymns. Additionally, in the eastern al-Jarf neighborhood, a festive evening with hymns and poems was organized, attended by social and religious leaders such as Allama Hamoud Sharaf al-Din and Sadiq al-Ghabbari.

Speeches at the evening organized by Bir Saree neighborhood residents delved into the qualities, courage, and struggles of the Prophet, urging attendees to strengthen their connection to him and emulate his example. Meanwhile, the al-Masna' and Qubbat Jabari neighborhoods' event, led by al-Naqeeb, emphasized the importance of instilling the Prophet's values and reverence in the younger generation.

The central event, attended by community leaders and social figures, featured hymns and cultural performances. Residents of the Al-Mazra'a neighborhood in the Al-Siyah neighborhood also hosted a speech evening, focusing on the significance of the Prophet's birth as a new dawn ending an era of oppression and ignorance. The event included hymns, an operetta titled "I Hope to Arrive," and a purposeful play, reflecting the occasion's grandeur and Yemenis' enduring love for the Prophet.
