Sana'a: A meeting held on Wednesday in Sana'a, chaired by the Chairman of the General Authority for the Development of Small and Micro Projects, Ahmed Al-Kubsi, focused on the progress of joint initiatives and strategies to enhance value chains in cotton products, cheeses, and leather.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting brought together leaders and officials from the Authority and the Agricultural and Fisheries Initiatives Financing Unit in the Capital Secretariat. The session, attended by Deputy Secretary of the Capital Secretariat for Financial Affairs, Mazen Nu'man, reviewed the ongoing projects funded by the Financing Unit and discussed the field challenges associated with their implementation. Key participants included Engineer Abdulmalik Al-Ansi, Director of the Agricultural and Fisheries Initiatives Financing Unit; technical deputy Fadl Al-Najjar; administrative and financial deputy Dr. Mustafa Atif; the Authority's Financial Director, Mohammed Tabaqa; and department directors from the Unit.
The discussion explored opportunities to develop and expand value chains in priority sectors. Emphasis was placed on institutional integration and strengthening partnerships to improve project quality and achieve sustainable economic empowerment.
During the meeting, Ahmed Al-Kubsi highlighted the necessity to meet local market demands through empowerment projects and the significance of coordinated efforts by activating community associations and institutions. He acknowledged the support of Sana'a Mayor, Dr. Hamoud Abbad, for the Authority's empowerment projects.
Deputy Mazen Nu'man encouraged the engagement of the private sector in project implementation to ensure sustainability and comprehensive economic development.
Engineer Abdulmalik Al-Ansi indicated that the Financing Unit is currently enhancing several value chain segments and sees potential for integrating more activities under the joint work mechanism. He advocated for unified efforts through the Authority, recognizing its active role in implementing projects via community associations and institutions.
