Sanaa: The Southern Movement component, a participant in the National Dialogue Conference and signatory to the Peace and Partnership Agreement, has extended its warmest congratulations to the Leader of the Revolution, Mr. Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi al-Mashat, President of the Supreme Political Council, the Armed Forces, Security Forces, and the Yemeni people on the occasion of the 36th anniversary of the Republic of Yemen, May 22nd.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Southern Movement component affirmed that Yemeni unity remains a significant national, pan-Arab, and Islamic achievement in modern history, despite the previous regime's actions that tarnished the memory of May 22, 1990. The movement emphasized that unity is a crucial national milestone and preserving it is essential under any circumstances, as it is a right for all Yemenis.
The Southern Movement highlighted that the enemies of the nation recognize the importance of Yemeni unity to the September 21st Revolution and its leadership, which is committed to correcting past mistakes to achieve equal citizenship and social justice. The movement stated that these adversaries have launched aggression and a blockade against Yemen, targeting its land and people.
The group reiterated its commitment to confronting challenges to unity, including the exploitation of internal national issues like the Southern issue. It expressed its rejection of the Southern Dialogue in Riyadh, viewing any resulting agreements as unacceptable and non-binding on Yemen and its people under the current conditions of aggression and occupation.
