Speaker of Parliament Highlights Yemeni Crisis in Letters to Pakistan and Turkey

Sanaa:The Speaker of the Parliament, Sheikh Yahya Ali Al-Ra'i, has communicated with the Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, and the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Professor Numan Kurtulmus, through formal letters.

According to Yemen News Agency, these letters discussed the current political and field developments in Yemen and the region. They detailed the ongoing Saudi aggression and blockade against Yemen, which has persisted for over 12 years, and its devastating impact on the country.

The letters also highlighted the extensive humanitarian crisis caused by the Saudi-led targeting of civilian and economic infrastructures. Data from the Ministry of Health and Environment was cited, revealing that more than 60,000 civilians have been affected, with approximately 24,000 fatalities and 36,000 injuries. Among the casualties, children have been severely impacted, accounting for 8,262 of the total, with 3,243 killed and 5,019 injured.
