Sana'a: The Speaker of the Shura Council, Mohammed Hussein Al-Eidarous, accompanied by several heads of specialized committees and members of the Council, along with the Secretary-General of the Council, Ali Abdulmoghni, visited Al-Aqsa Academy for Medical and Applied Sciences, where final preparations for its inauguration are underway.
According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Eidarous and his delegation received insights from the President of the Academy, Dr. Yasser Abdulmoghni, and the Deputy Director of the Medical Services Department in the Central Military Region, Colonel Dr. Abdulwasea Al-Salwi, about the Academy project's progress. They discussed the Academy's medical and applied specializations and its training system, which employs modern tools and technologies to teach medicine in Arabic while aligning with the latest scientific curricula.
During their visit, the delegation toured the Academy's departments, lecture halls, and laboratories, reviewing the completion level and modern technical equipment being installed for student intake according to high standards of quality and academic accreditation.
The Speaker of the Shura Council emphasized that developing educational facilities amid current challenges sends a vital message that Yemen is simultaneously building both defense and knowledge infrastructures. He underscored the importance of training health cadres and nursing staff, noting their role as a cornerstone in advancing the health sector and providing quality medical services.
Al-Eidarous highlighted that Al-Aqsa Academy will significantly enhance the educational process in Yemen's medical field. He and the delegation expressed hope that the Academy would become a hub for nurturing skilled medical professionals, grounded in national values and addressing societal needs. They affirmed the Shura Council's support for educational initiatives that build a capable future generation.
The President of the Academy outlined the targeted educational system, which adopts a modern strategy focusing on active and cooperative learning to engage students, emphasizing practice, application, knowledge exchange, and teamwork. He also acknowledged the Central Region leadership's support in equipping the Academy's infrastructure, including halls, laboratories, and equipment.
