Sana'a: A speech and cultural event was held on Monday in Sana'a to commemorate the Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him and his family) birthday.
According to Yemen News Agency, the event was organized by several institutions and private companies under the slogan 'At Your Service, O Messenger of Allah.' During the event, Osama Al-Mahtouri, preacher and imam of Badr Mosque in the capital, emphasized the importance of commemorating the Prophet's birthday as an opportunity to reflect on and draw lessons from the values, struggle, and courage of the Prophet, linking the glorious past to the painful present experienced by the Ummah.
He highlighted that the timeless biography of the Prophet provides the Ummah with the greatest example in confronting the American-Zionist aggression against Gaza, which remains the beating heart of the Ummah's central cause. Al-Mahtouri described the commemoration as a renewed spiritual station from which Muslims can draw guidance, mercy, and inspiration from the life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family), whose birth illuminated the earth and whose message brought everlasting light to humanity.
He also noted that the Arab and Islamic world today is enduring one of the harshest and most dangerous periods of oppression, tyranny, killings, and occupation of countries by the forces of global arrogance, namely the United States and Israel. He pointed out that the Israeli targeting of the Yemeni Prime Minister and his fellow ministers was an attempt to deter the Yemeni people from supporting Gaza, which would ultimately fail.
For his part, cultural activist Dr. Ahmed Al-Lahaji described the commemoration of the Prophet's birthday as a unifying occasion and an important foundation for Islamic unity, considering it an educational, enlightening, and charitable season. He affirmed that the Yemeni people's celebration of this great occasion represents a revival of the guidance, truth, justice, support, and altruism brought by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family).
