Dhamar: The Yemen Standards, Metrology and Quality Control Authority carried out on Sunday field inspection campaigns targeting gold shops in Dhamar province and gas stations in Amran province.
According to Yemen News Agency, the authority stated that inspection teams checked gold markets in Dhamar province to ensure compliance with legal weights and carats. This included sample testing, scale calibration, and verification of licensing to ensure the integrity of the gold trade.
In Amran, the focus was on gas filling stations, where the campaign aimed to assess technical compliance and measure accuracy to ensure consumer protection. Several violations were detected in some stations for deliberately reducing fuel quantities, prompting legal procedures against those responsible.
