Dakar: The Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan to Senegal, Abdul-Ghani Al-Naeem Awad Al-Karim, has announced that Sudan is embarking on a phase of reconstruction, development, and progress. He highlighted the appointment of Professor Kamil Al-Tayib Idris as Prime Minister, his new government, and the comprehensive plan for a stable transitional period that will conclude with free, fair, and transparent elections.
According to Sudan News Agency, during a meeting with the Director General of the Senegalese Press and Publishing Company (Le Soleil), Mr. Lamine Niang, and senior company officials, the ambassador discussed the challenges Sudan has faced. He described the brutal colonial aggression targeting the Sudanese people by terrorist militias armed and funded from outside Africa, with involvement from influential international entities.
The ambassador underscored Sudan's deep cultural roots and the efforts of its leadership, people, army, and supporting forces, under President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, in achieving victory against foreign aggression. The discussions with Senegal focused on enhancing cooperation in political, economic, and cultural fields, aiming to strengthen Africa's media sovereignty.
The Sudanese ambassador's visit to the headquarters of the Senegalese Press and Publishing Company emphasized the need for greater African media collaboration. He advocated for building an African media system that respects sovereignty, proposing initiatives with Le Soleil to provide Africans with self-accessed information. This step, he noted, is pivotal for achieving political sovereignty and activating the African Media Agency to address regional challenges and solutions.
The Director General of the Senegalese Press and Publishing Company highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation beyond media to include trade and economy. He expressed Senegal's intent to fortify cultural ties with Sudan and recognized the visit as an opportunity to enhance bilateral media channels. This, he stated, would facilitate the exchange of visits, experiences, and skills in politics and development between the two nations.
