Muscat: Dr. Saleh bin Saeed Masan, the Omani Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion for Commerce and Industry, engaged in discussions with Iranian Deputy Minister of Minerals, Industry and Trade, Mohammad Ali Dehghan. The focus of their talks was to enhance economic relations and strengthen cooperation in commercial, industrial, and investment sectors between Oman and Iran.
According to Yemen News Agency, both sides underscored the importance of improving communication between public and private sectors. They emphasized the need to intensify efforts to support joint projects and boost investment flows that benefit the economic interests of both nations.
The discussions also included finalizing procedures for a preferential trade agreement and exploring opportunities in industrial and commercial sectors. Particular attention was given to manufacturing industries, minerals, and modern industrial technologies.
The officials reviewed topics scheduled for the joint Omani-Iranian committee meeting, set for January 26 and 27, 2026, and examined the work of the joint technical committee, focusing on mechanisms for following up on agreed recommendations and outcomes.
The Omani Undersecretary reiterated Oman's commitment to expanding economic partnerships with Iran, aiming to support promising sectors and increase trade and investment exchanges between the two countries.
