Hajjah: This year, the girls' summer courses organized by the Cultural Women's Authority in Hajjah Governorate (1447 AH) are witnessing unprecedented momentum, reflecting growing societal awareness of their importance and a strong desire to make use of the school holiday to protect and nurture female students according to a faith-based, Qur'anic vision.
According to Yemen News Agency, the large turnout highlights parents' interest in building their daughters' academic and practical skills, and in strengthening divine guidance within them through remembrance, recitation, and memorization of the Holy Qur'an, enabling them to achieve success in this life and the hereafter.
The authority aims to instill a spirit of giving and initiative through charitable activities, strengthen attachment to Ahl al-Bayt, and reinforce the principle of loyalty to Allah, the Prophet, and righteous leaders. This is done through authentic historical storytelling, videos, lectures, seminars, short presentations, and nasheeds, as well as fostering disavowal of the enemies of Islam. It also focuses on developing participants' knowledge in cultural and beneficial sciences, viewing summer courses as an opportunity to instill and reinforce good values, morals, cooperation, charity, and brotherhood through initiatives such as charitable projects and cleaning campaigns.
This year, the Cultural Women's Authority is implementing skill-based activities across various fields as part of the Supreme Committee's plans for summer programs, aiming to enhance participants' practical abilities and expand their intellectual and cultural capacities.
The courses include Qur'an memorization, recitation, and reflection, given their impact on self-purification and insight-building, as well as strengthening connection to the Book of Allah. They also feature Yemeni Qa'idah lessons to develop eloquence and proper reading, linking language skills to understanding the Qur'an, alongside Qur'anic culture lessons that reinforce faith identity and provide protection against soft warfare.
Additionally, the programs cover the authentic Prophetic biography and introduce exemplary righteous women in Islamic history to strengthen moral and educational values. Organized visits to martyrs' memorials are also included to highlight their sacrifices and deepen participants' connection to them.
Among the approved activities this year are skill-based and creative programs, as well as behavioral and awareness initiatives that help discover talents, refine abilities, and build self-confidence and a sense of responsibility.
The Women's Authority places great emphasis on educational activities such as theater, nasheeds, drawing, storytelling, and visual arts to develop capabilities and refine skills in public speaking, poetry, oratory, chanting, drawing, and calligraphy. It also supports the creation of wall magazines and encourages talent discovery through open creative spaces.
It is also keen on organizing diverse religious and cultural competitions and interactive questions to create an enjoyable atmosphere, along with training participants to write brief journalistic reports to help reinforce ideas in a useful and engaging way.
Coordinators of the Women's Authority in the province explained that these programs aim to equip students with skills suited to their interests, develop their abilities, and teach them the Qur'an, prayer, and ablution. They emphasized the authority's commitment to fostering cultural and creative skills, teaching Qur'anic culture and beneficial religious sciences, improving Qur'an memorization, recitation, strengthening faith-based values and morals while correcting misconceptions and misleading ideas.
They added that activities include Qa'idah lessons, cultural evenings, events, and competitions, all of which positively influence girls' behavior and nurture noble values.
The girls' summer courses in Hajjah represent an educational space where knowledge meets values, contributing to building awareness among girls and strengthening their connection to their religious and cultural identity.
